About the store
My first seven years as an educator began in early childhood (birth to five). The following five years of my career were spent in a bilingual (Spanish) classroom teaching the most adorable kindergartners. I now teach a diverse group of students from 5K through 5th grade as a specialist for multilingual learners. There are 14 languages represented at my school and 42 in my district. I have a diverse role (no pun intended) in which I co-teach, push-in to classrooms, pull small groups, provide tier 2 intervention, and everything in between! I spend much of my time working on creating and providing modified supports alongside classroom teachers and other specialists. I also work as an advocate for diverse families to make sure they have equitable participation in their child's education. In my free time, I volunteer through Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Services Program tutoring adults who are learning English as an additional language. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2025 under the certification of English as a New Language.
