I am a 2nd grade teacher in my 6th year of teaching! Throughout my time with my students, I have found that I love making personalized activities for them. Hopefully they can be of use to you, too.
This download includes 20 task cards to be used as a scavenger hunt around the classroom. Students will need to read the sentence and decide which homophone is the best fit based on the context. It is a good review and good practice on identifying homophones! Students can complete these in pairs or individually. They write their answers on their recording sheet and hand them in to the teacher to check for understanding by comparing with the answer key.
This game can be played either as a center (with up to 11 students) or as a whole class in two groups. There are two sets of the game, so the groups could switch cards after a round to have a new order. The cards show dots on a number line and students have to read what their number is.
