This file contains two pages of more practice with the Distributive Property.
The first page has students practice splitting arrays and writing equations to show the distributive property, as well as drawing arrays and showing where they would split for given equations.
The second page has students develop more than one way to split an array and write the equation for at least two ways per array. It also has the students draw arrays and show where to split them for given equations.
I created these pages for a STEM activity we did with my class. We'd been learning about gravity and I decided to let groups make parachutes. (This could also be done independently.) After reading about gravity and looking at pictures of different parachutes, students used the parachute planning page to plan the size and style of their parachute. This two page file has students create a tally chart, bar graph, line plot, and pictograph of the number of each color of conversation hearts they receive. At the end of the file, students are also required to write questions and the answers for each of the graphs/line plot they created.
