About the store

Experience

I taught middle school math and science for 12 years during which I pushed the boundaries of technology use in the classroom. After that, I moved into education technology, being an Instructional Innovation Coach for the last 4 years. Now I am a part time Instructional Coach and part time STEM Coach in my division. I lead educational training and work with teachers to seamlessly integrate technology into their classrooms.

Teaching style

I tend to lean towards constructivism. I prefer to let my students and teachers get dirty and learn through experiences. I love to watch their eyes light up when when everything finally clicks!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was chosen to be part of the first group of Microsoft Innovative Expert Educators and have continued to work with the MIEE team as a leader in our Microsoft school division. I have worked with Flipgrid, Edulastic and many other edtech companies as a leader and trainer and continue to push myself to learn as much as I can about emerging edtech.

My own education history

I gre wup in Yorktown Virginia, attending k-12 in the same school division in which I now work. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelors of Science degree and went on to earn my master in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University.

Additional biographical information

As a mom of three boys and wife to an entrepreneur, I am constantly on the go! At work, I love getting into classrooms and working with teachers to find their strengths and help them gain confidence in their weaknesses. Bringing in hands-on learning and STEM makes my heart happy as I see students and teachers alike, find their passion and reignite their love of learning!
