This product will help your students write detailed written responses to text-dependent questions. It's called RACE: Restate- Answer-Cite Evidence- Extend. After a few modeled lessons, the students will be able to effectively and thoroughly respond to open-ended questions.
There is an 18-slide PowerPoint with examples on how to use RACE with your students. There is also a RACE poster (or) student sheet for their writing toolkit, as well as a detailed assessment rubric.
I began using the RACE
This is a test I created to go along with the Phaethon myth in SpringBoard for Activity 1.11. The assessment contains 12 multiple choice, 4 true/false, 4 vocabulary terms, and 1 written response question. An answer key is included. *I did not create the myth. The myth is in the SpringBoard (College Board) 2018 version.
