Kimberly James is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and children’s mental health therapist with over a decade of experience supporting children and families in school-based settings. She has worked with children for many years in a variety of roles, including PreK teacher, educational administrator, therapeutic foster parent, and now clinical therapist.
Kimberly specializes in helping young children build emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence through developmentally appropriate, engaging tools. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), is an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider. Her professional experience spans PreK through elementary ages, with additional work supporting adolescents and adults throughout her career.
Through her books and resources, Kimberly combines clinical expertise with creativity to make mental health skills accessible, practical, and kid-friendly for children, families, educators, and therapists.
She is the creator of The Growing Space LLC, where she develops therapy books, games, and resources designed to help children grow emotionally and thrive.
