Students rate their understanding of a lesson or assignment by turning their paper into the basket that best describes their self-assessment: "I'VE GOT THIS", "I ALMOST GOT IT", and "I NEED HELP". This is the form I use to take notes when I go visit a teacher's classroom. I'm an instructional coach, so I like referring to my observation as a "learning walk" to assure my teachers that I'm not evaluating or judging them in any way. There are three shapes on the form.
