This product contains a two-page guided/Cornell notes style sheet to follow along with instruction. Included is a key for the guided notes and a power point presentation to teach the concept. These notes and lecture follow the Florida Standards. Check out my Pythagorean Theorem Performance Task/Extended Response to use an assessment after teaching this concept.

The investigation is intended to be used after students have learned to add, subtract, and multiply other binomial and polynomial expressions and have learned basic exponent rules. The investigation of special products will help students realize the relationship between the polynomial expression and the factored version of it later on.
