I have taught Health/Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies within 4 different K-12 public school districts (5 schools) in the USA. I completed my student teaching in 2 different school districts prior to my professional experience. I've had the opportunity to see a wide range of students in these 6 districts across the country.
I spent the majority of my 10+ years teaching 5th Grade Science and Social Studies in Texas. I am now working as an instructional designer in the EdTech world. However, I still have a lot of access to all things teacher (resources, curriculum standards, etc.), and I will always be a teacher "at heart".

SPHERES Science middle school jeopardy review game
I created this jeopardy review game for my middle school science students. The topic is: SPHERES. For example: atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere. There are 15 questions. When you open this powerpoint, if you click on "slideshow" then "from beginning" there is jeopardy music playing and then if you click the screen, it reveals the correct answer. The jeopardy music plays while students are answering each question, and then when you click the screen, the correct answer shows up. Enjoy!! Please ch

There is one slide "Chemical" and one slide "Physical". The remainder of the slides are examples or definitions of chemical or physical characteristics. I made this so that students can match the cards to the correct category. This category card sort activity helps my students to stay engaged in learning/ assesses how much they know on the topic. Experience

Teaching style
My teaching style is calm, engaging, and fun. I provide multiple learning activities during my 90 minute time frame to help my students stay engaged in learning. I try to use a variety of teaching methods to keep my students engaged.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I received the Teacher of the Year award at my Elementary School Campus during the 2021-2022 school year. This was my 8th year of teaching. This was one of the biggest accomplishments in my career.
My own education history
I have a bachelor's degree in K-12 Education and a master's degree in Educational Technology & Instructional Design. My high school and middle school teachers inspired me to become a teacher. I was a teacher for over 10 years before leaving the classroom to work in instructional design at an EdTech company. Now, I aim to inspire both current and future teachers in the workforce.
