About the store
I have taught Health/Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies within 4 different K-12 public school districts (5 schools) in the USA. I completed my student teaching in 2 different school districts prior to my professional experience. I've had the opportunity to see a wide range of students in these 6 districts across the country. I spent the majority of my 10+ years teaching 5th Grade Science and Social Studies in Texas. I am now working as an instructional designer in the EdTech world. However, I still have a lot of access to all things teacher (resources, curriculum standards, etc.), and I will always be a teacher "at heart".

Experience

I have taught Health/Physical Education, Science, and Social Studies within 4 different K-12 public school districts (5 schools) in the USA. I completed my student teaching in 2 different school districts prior to my professional experience. I've had the opportunity to see a wide range of students in these 6 districts across the country. However, I still have a lot of access to all things teacher (resources, curriculum standards, etc.), and I will always be a teacher "at heart".

Teaching style

My teaching style is calm, engaging, and fun. I provide multiple learning activities during my 90 minute time frame to help my students stay engaged in learning. I try to use a variety of teaching methods to keep my students engaged.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I received the Teacher of the Year award at my Elementary School Campus during the 2021-2022 school year. This was my 8th year of teaching. This was one of the biggest accomplishments in my career.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree in K-12 Education and a master's degree in Educational Technology & Instructional Design. My high school and middle school teachers inspired me to become a teacher. I was a teacher for over 10 years before leaving the classroom to work in instructional design at an EdTech company. Now, I aim to inspire both current and future teachers in the workforce.
