This is a hands on lesson that allows students to discover how many degrees are in a triangle by using their knowledge of how many degrees are in a straight angle (line). Students cut the angles off of the triangles included in the “cutouts” page and discover that when put together they form a straight line so – their angles also will add up to 180 degree just as in a straight angle.
