About the store

Experience

Hi, I'm Krista—a retired paramedic firefighter with over 30 years of experience and a current EMS educator with a passion for teaching life-saving skills. I create engaging, classroom-ready resources that help teachers bring health, safety, and emergency preparedness to life. Whether you're covering first aid, personal health, or disaster readiness, I've got tools to support you and your students.

Teaching style

As an EMS educator, my teaching style combines academic standards with career readiness. I create lessons that not only teach students the “what” but also the “why” and “how”—so they can confidently apply knowledge in the real world, whether it's a classroom, a workplace, or an emergency situation.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I’ve been honored to mentor dozens of future EMS professionals, many of whom have gone on to become EMTs, paramedics, and members of the fire service. Watching my students turn their training into careers is incredibly rewarding. I've also presented health and safety workshops at schools and community events, and I love it when students or teachers say, “I feel more prepared now.” Empowering others is always the win. Before moving into curriculum design, I owned and operated a CPR and first aid training business, where I taught hundreds of community members life-saving techniques.

My own education history

I’ve been a licensed paramedic since 1988, after graduating from the Western Institute of Prehospital Care, and hold a Bachelor of Science in Fire Safety Management from Madison University. Every resource I create is backed by decades of experience in both the field and the classroom.

Additional biographical information

With years of hands-on field experience and classroom teaching, I know how to make real-world safety topics approachable for students and practical for teachers. Inside my store, you’ll find: • First aid & CPR visuals • Emergency preparedness lessons • Health science & career exploration activities • Safety scenario worksheets • Printable posters, classroom decor, and EMS-themed clipart Whether you're creating lesson plans, bulletin boards, or educational resources of your own, you'll find tools here to support CTE, health education, and homeschool environments. My mission is to help you feel confident teaching life-saving concepts—and to equip you with visual tools that make learning stick. Have an idea for a resource you don’t see here?
