This nonfiction book guide can be used for independent reading books or a class read. It is a great way to keep students on track with their reading and work on important skills as they read. This guide focuses on skills such as context clues, main (central) idea, summary, and text features. It also includes an outline for an essay for students to write on their books when finished.

This resource fits perfectly after reading the chapters in the book where Bruno and Shmuel meet - chapter 10 and on. There is a graphic organizer for students to complete as well as a constructed response. If you want to practice finding text evidence from the book, have students include page numbers where they found similarities and differences.
