As a classroom teacher, I often found the math curriculum to be boring and/or confusing for students, parents, and often my fellow teachers as well. Some curriculums that have very good aspects were not very teacher and student friendly. I believe that children need systematic, hands on learning which they find fun and interesting. As a math interventionist I began making my own presentations and games, along with whole group, small group, and independent practice activities that aligned with the priority standards for each grade level.
