Teaching style
I'm always looking for that "ah-ha" moment in the student-- guiding them through an activity/worksheet/game with the just right challenge so they can accomplish it as independently as possible to build those neural connections and feelings of accomplishment. I'm a firm believer in playing to the child's strengths and always strive to end every interaction positively, even with some of my most behavioral/challenging students.
My own education history
I graduated from University of California at San Diego in 2010 with a B.S. in NeuroPsychology. I spent some time working as a research project manager before deciding I wanted to work with a clinical population. I graduated from San Jose State in 2015 with an M.S. in Occupational Therapy and became licensed in February 2016.
Additional biographical information
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my sports-fanatic husband and very active toddler daughter. I love Netflix and Chill nights in, playing with my daughter and occasionally putting on a Mother-daughter Disney karaoke show for Daddy and stuffed animals :)
