This smart notebook is for practicing estimating multiplication by front end estimation, then adding 0's to account for place value. It's meant to come after estimation has been discussed. The word problems integrate science and social studies concepts as well as real world problems. Differentiation AND fun activities, yes please! Each day, have your students pick an ingredient to add to heir "spelling soup" for the week. Then each following week, have them change at least 1 "ingredient" to make an entirely different soup. Added challenge question: how many different soups can you make??

Possibilities: -hand out to students to keep in folders -keep all cards with you until needed -print a second copy to stay at computer stations in the classroom These are completely editable!
