The Project Based Learning Classroom

This project has 4 graphs (pictograph, bar graph, double bar graph, and a free choice). Students are given Christmas themed assignments that they are required to complete. This project is aligned to the Alberta Grade 4 and 5 outcomes, as well as Common Core. All images are from www.freepik.com

In this project, students are required to create a poster that explains both addition and subtraction. This project can be adapted to any grade, but works best in upper elementary.

A place value project. This project assess use of standard and expanded form, as well as number words and base ten sketches. Students are tasked with creating a product for a website, along with prices for these products. Aligned to Alberta Curriculum outcomes, as well as Common Core.
