This Lyrics as Literature mini unit addresses the Essential Question: Is it possible to separate art from a problematic artist? First students will read and analyze an NPR article published immediately after the concept film's release in 2010. They'll analyze it for tone, context, and point of view. I've included annotation directions and the full article. Next they'll watch the clean, edited version of the short film on YouTube with profanity edited out. They'll analyze the film though a

A combination old school and new school: I'm constantly trying to "mix it up" to keep my classroom fresh and exciting for my students! A good day is a day when I set an activity in motion and the students work collaboratively to complete it!
