The Sci-Squad

This s a brief introduction to what Tourette's syndrome is and what it is not. I use this to introduce the disorder to students and I am working to get diagnosed for Tourette's myself.

A project outline for testing students understanding of the Scientific Method. The goal of this project is for students to design a scientific question, create a hypothesis, generate hypothetical (but plausible) data, and come to a reasonable conclusion from that data.

This PowerPoint works for classrooms as well as an independent activity. It is always possible to make it to the end of the story. The events in this story were inspired by Art Spiegelman's "MAUS". The story acts as a digital "Choose-your-own-adventure" and offers a window into the eyes of the choices one had to face during the holocaust. Students will explore life and death and try to survive through liberation.

A short PowerPoint used to describe medical treatments used in the late 50s and early 60s. This is intended as a short summary to facilitate discussion and create a visual of the standard of care in this time. I originally used this during a reading of "Flowers for Algernon" to express the standard of treatment Charlie was getting, however please feel free to let me know how you choose to repurpose it!
