Students will learn they have a part of the brain that controls urges and wants called the hypothalamus, while another part of the brain controls rational, logical thoughts, the frontal-lobe, and either part can have an effect on the other; students will learn to manage their impulsive behaviors and understand that reasonable thoughts can lead to better choices.
Students will learn that there are two types of memories in the human brain - short and long term. By the end of this lesson, students will understand that there are different parts of the brain that work with and store these memories.
