Teaching style

I believe in making thinking visible, fostering curiosity, and helping students see math as something they do—not just something they’re told. My teaching blends inquiry-based learning, clear structure, and meaningful practice. I love designing resources that support deep understanding, productive struggle, and real-world application.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I’ve been honored with two I-STAR nominations recognizing outstanding teaching in Indiana, and I currently serve as a Creative Teaching Fellow with the Indiana Arts Commission. One of my proudest moments was writing and developing an interdisciplinary math/philosophy course that challenged students to see math as a human endeavor, not just a subject.

My own education history

B.A. in Secondary Mathematics Education, Ball State University (Honors Program Graduate) M.S. in Mathematics Education, Indiana Wesleyan University M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Indiana Wesleyan University Ed.S. in District Level Leadership, in progress, Indiana Wesleyan University

Additional biographical information

I’m passionate about curriculum reform, STEM access, and helping students (and teachers!) find joy and meaning in math. When I’m not designing resources, I work with schools on initiatives like math acceleration, equity in STEM, and integrating data science into Algebra instruction. I’m also a mentor for future educators and a lifelong learner myself.
