About the store

Experience

I have been blessed to be a teacher for 21 years, working with students in diverse classrooms, with different learning styles and abilities. I've taught pre-k, first, second, and third graders. I am newly retired, and will continue working with my star students as a substitute teacher.

Teaching style

My teaching style, most importantly, begins with establishing relationships with my students, and encouraging a family atmosphere in my classroom. Throughout the year, my students have ongoing opportunities to engage in hands-on, creative learning experiences focused on the learning objectives.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My students and I won an award in our district science fair one year. That's the only award I can boast about. I guess you could say I've been "honored" with teaching all of my star students over the years.

My own education history

I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston Clear Lake, with some art classes mixed in at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.

Additional biographical information

I live on an island with my wonderful husband. We love to travel, hang out with our family, and play with our grandkids.
