Easy rubric to use especially for summer reading novel presentations. Includes plot overview, identification of literary devices and how they contribute to plot and character development, identification of conflict and theme, student analysis, and 20 points allotted for visual aid.

Assist students in identifying how author's use literary devices in short stories. This rubric emphasizes the discovery of literary devices and to what effect with 30 points of the grade being devoted to the identification of the literary devices and 10 points to the explanation. Also includes overall analysis of story, visual aide, and group member participation grade.

Teaching style
Each individual child on this earth is gifted in something. As an educator, my goal is to facilitate a child in discovering unique giftedness. Realizing academic giftedness is easy. But what about being kind, or treating people with respect, or taking time to listen? In today's world, I extremely value the intangible gifted attributes as much as the academic excellence.

1989 - Bachelor of Arts in Communication University of Louisiana at Monroe.
1999 - Certification in Gifted Education University of North Texas.
2018 -Masters in Theological Studies with Biblical Cognate Liberty University.
Additional biographical information
Jeff and I have been married for 35 years, and during Covid, I quit teaching to become his medical scribe. I call my current job Alzheimer's prevention as I am learning an entirely new profession and skill set in my 50s. We have two daughters - an LSU graduate who is obtaining her PhD in Anatomy at UNTHSC, and a University of Alabama graduate who is living the teacher life every day as a middle school music teacher in Orlando. I pray for all our teachers daily as I know how difficult the profession has become.
