September 11th can be a difficult important part of history to teach to our students. This is a follow up to the original assessment posted in my store. I like to provide students with the similar format of a previous assessment but still provide challenging and rigorous questions. Please feel free to leave feedback to improve this product!

This is a great letter to send out to parents during the first weeks of school to get parent participation in multiple ways. Letter is translated into Spanish to ensure your Spanish Speaking parents are also included and involved! Enjoy!

This is a six question assessment with questions ranging from easy to challenging. Four of these questions are word question based. Additionally, there is a self reflection sheet with guiding questions to allow students to use metacognition to think back to their overall performance on the assessment and mastery of 3.NBT.2 standard. To help my students practice what they learned in class and encourage parent/family involvement, I began implementing this weekly four problems challenge for my third graders. These questions will give parents/families an idea of what the students are learning in classroom and give kids the ability to "be the teacher". The student will complete one problem per day with their "student of choice" and will write their explanation to their question. A signature from "student of choice" is required

This assessment for 3.NBT.1 requires students to apply rounding to performance task/story problem situations as oppose to straight rounding. Each question is worth 3 points for the following criteria-correct solution, showing work/evidence, and explanation of mathematical thinking. Upon completion, there is a self reflection page for students to reflect on their understanding of the standard of focus. Please provide feedback on how it worked in your classroom.

This four question, 12 point assessment allows students to demonstrate their ability to tell time to the nearest minute using the analog clocks and being given the time and having to demonstrate it on an analog clock. Questions will also use real world situations (movie schedule, flight schedule) to allow students to use what they know about elapsed time to solve these questions.
