Historical Fiction Projects

These book projects can be part of a language arts or social studies curriculum. Get rid of the traditional book reports and do something fun with media and technology. The idea behind these projects is to get the students to connect with the characters and create empathy and awareness of what people have endured over time. The book does not matter, as long as the student is able to connect with at least one character.

World History Test - The First Humans

This the Chapter 1 assessment that I give with the Glencoe World History textbook. The main ideas are general to all texts. It addresses archaeology/anthropology, the Agricultural Revolution, the Neolithic Era, fire and the roles of men and women of the time. It is given in an independent school environment where class discussion has connected current events with the text. It contains three essay questions and three short answer questions.
