Summer slide is real and it's here. I love to encourage my students to read over the summer in as many places and genres as they can. AND I want to know all about their reading. For my 5th graders, this accompanies their end-of-year gift in a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope. I ask my students to fill-in the forms and color the doodles, then send it back to me at the end of the summer so I can keep in touch with their reading and their lives.
