Keyboard hand position for typing - type - keyboarding - fingers -fingering

I created this as a way to help my kids remember their home row finger positions while touch typing. One of the ways you can use it is to laminate it and put it in front of each computer so students can practice the proper finger stroke for every letter. Posting it on the monitor or below the monitor allows it to be easily read by the students. On the picture previews, you can see that it can also be easily propped up on most keyboards right above the row of number keys. The image is about

Accelerated Reader Introduction for Teachers

This is a staff training document that clearly explains how teachers can view student records and goals and run basic reports. This document will assist teachers in being able to effectively use some of most common areas of the Accelerated Reader program as it relates to AR books and quizzing. A perfect use of it would be to distribute it at a staff training / workshop. Teachers will find it useful as a handy reference after the training as well. I have written up and created Word files with basic descriptions of various computer parts for a bulletin board display. This is a great way to get your kids interested in computers if you have old computer parts laying around. The descriptions are designed with 3rd grade on up in mind as far as reading level and would look nice the computer area in your classroom if you have one, or in the computer lab. This is a PowerPoint designed for 1st/2nd graders to use to help them illustrate their understanding of the seasons. There is a title slide with a place for them to put their name, and 4 slides (one for each season). Before starting the activity, brainstorm with the kids the types of the differences we see in each season. Spring is already done as a model for them, so you could either leave it there as a sample or take out descriptions. I usually require that at least 3 short points be made

Experience

18 years in the teaching profession. Started as a 3rd grade teacher, then moved to middle school teaching ELA, Science, Algebra, and Journalism (yearbook/newspaper). The last 11 years I have been a computer resource teacher. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of technology support roles doing staff technology trainings and workshops. Teaching style

I like to deliver information in a way that makes it usable for the participant so will often create documents that go along with the training that they can refer to both during and after workshops. I also encourage (and love) questions that people have because it gives me the opportunity to really dig into concepts people may be struggling with.
