About the store
Patricia Kodet coordinated the art program and instructed in the classrooms for Pleasant Ridge school district for 13 years. Her lessons have been developed and taught in the classroom and her private instruction art studio. She has worked in hundreds of classrooms in over 19 public and private schools in Placer and Nevada Counties in California. She helped in the development of the National Standards for Arts Education and the California Visual Art Standards.
She teaches Zoom workshops in Procreate.

Art Lesson - Oil Pastels or Construction Paper Crayons Poinsettias Think Art Now
This lesson will show how contrast of light and dark, and complementary colors with the use of pattern will make an interesting work of art. Visual patterns are very common such as simple decorative patterns (stripes, zigzags, and polka-dots). Others can be more complicated, however, they may be found anywhere in nature and in art. Here we take circles equal signs, and heart shapes to create a pattern to represent a flower. Flowers can be traditional poinsettias or the flowers can be any color.
