I enjoy creating and leading social emotional lessons that allow for students to be active and engaged participants. I love incorporating interactive games, puppet shows, music and movement, video modeling, and storytelling to my individual and group counseling sessions, and find that my students learn and retain social skills more effectively when they THINK, FEEL, and DO.
I only have a 30-45 minute time frame for my individual, group and classroom sessions, and so typically, I avoid worksheets and activities that involve lots of writing. I want for the students to practice their social communication skills in real time and prefer that we role-play, discuss, observe and practice social, self-regulation and problem-solving skills instead of completing worksheets. I've created resources in my store that reflect this teaching style and philosophy. I have used and currently use all of the resources in my own practice and hope they are useful to you as well. I am open to suggestions and welcome any feedback to improve/edit. Email: info@thinkfeeldocounseling.com
