This is a post-reading activity for high-ability students in grades 4-7 for the novel, Wonder. Students select a character who doesn't have his or her own chapter in the book, and write a chapter just for him or her. The focus is on using "voice" to enhance one's writing. Discovery-Based, Cooperative Learning, often using Depth of Knowledge, along with the Habits of Mind to inspire and challenge students to go above and beyond what they thought they were ever capable of doing. Activities are often for advanced learners, but open-ended, and easily adaptable.
