Thinking Cap Cafe

Students will sequence important main events from the informational texts found throughout the story "Lincoln and Grace," by Steve Metzger. This piece of literature includes important features such as newspaper clippings, biographical snapshots, and time tables. This activity will require students to not only read those additional pieces found throughout the story, but to show that they understand when they occurred throughout America's history and how they compare to the events in the book.

A basic K-W-L Chart for students to complete as they study the United States presidents. Great to use before to activate prior knowledge, assess what they want to learn by using question stems, and evaluate their learning at the end of the study.
