I struggled engaging students in reading literature, and I FINALLY found the cure: coloring pages! Handout coloring pages and colored pencils or markers, and VIOLA! Students pay attention, better participate in discussions, and truly have better comprehension of the text. Your assessments (and administrators) will thank you! This activity includes 12 pages of Things Fall Apart coloring pages (with quotes from the text) and literary activities, including a focus on symbolism, theme, and setting

Argument analysis is one of the most important skills for students to master in AP Seminar. This handout can be used with ANY article, allowing students to fully learn how to analyze an author's argument for purpose, line of reasoning, and quality of evidence, and it prompts students to starting making evaluations on arguments. This is a perfect practice for EOC Part A for the AP exam! I use this throughout the year for numerous articles, including practice exams.
