This is a fun winter craft for students who are learning to model regrouping for addition. This particular activity is set up to go with Go Math Grade 2, Chapter 4 Lesson 4 (4.4). The students write an addition sentence on the left mitten and then model regrouping by drawing the tens and ones for each number on the right mitten. The students can then cut them out and design them. I also punched a whole in the base of each mitten so that string could be attached!
This is a fun Thanksgiving activity for students to write what they are thankful for. It could be a simple activity just as it is or be included with a writing activity. Students think of four things they are thankful for and write them in each section of the plate.
