About the store
I knew at a very young age that teaching was the path I wanted to take in life. I started by being a mother's helper, moved into babysitting, served as a camp counselor, and went to undergrad for elementary education. I have been teaching in the public school system for the past seven years. I taught fourth grade for five years and have been in third for two years.

The Case of the Runaway Dog Reading Comprehension Book
The Reading Comprehension Book is a great resource for students to use during reading groups or book clubs. There are 2-4 questions per chapter that require short answer responses. Teachers are able to monitor student comprehension as well as use the student packet as a grade.

Teaching style
I believe in connecting the content being taught to real-world situations. Students should know the ‘why’ behind their lessons, and should never be afraid to ask “Why am I learning this? Why should it be important to me?” It’s important that the students discover the ‘why’ on their own. I provide students with opportunities to make the connections and serve as a facilitator to promote a strong classroom discussion for students to realize the ‘ah-ha!’ moment. Understanding the ‘why’ behind concepts promote students who are engaged, excited and ready to learn.
