I am currently substituting in a public school K-5 in both general education and special education; short term and long term jobs.
Teaching style
I love to incorporate Social Emotional Learning into our everyday routine because of how necessary I believe it is for all students. I also believe in Project-Based Learning, even in elementary schools and love to plan and design engaging PBL units! I treat my classroom(s) as second families and we constantly are supporting each other and collaborating with each other. When the students' basic needs are meet and they're comfortable in your classroom, they will absolutely thrive in every way, every day!
My own education history
In 2019, I graduated from a local community college with my A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education and a Teachers Assistants Certificate; Academic Honors and a Leadership Award. During my time at this community college, I worked as a peer tutor in our learning center. In 2022, I am expected to graduate with my B.S. in Inclusive Childhood Education and receive my state certification for teaching Grades 1-6 in both general education and special education. Upon graduation and receiving my certification, I would love to attend graduate school to student curriculum development and technology instruction.
Additional biographical information
Outside of school, I love to create art! This includes many different medias such as photography, woodworking, painting, ceramics, oven-bake clay earrings, digital doodles, and more. I also love to get outside by taking walks, mountainous hikes, and swim.
I'm a steward for my Little Free Library! Mine is titled "The Woodlawn Little Free Library" and was established in April of 2020. I highly recommend checking out what LFL is and if you have one near you!
