Grade 3 Nothing Fancy: Writing Prompts
Simply 150 prompts for writing... complete 3 per week and you have a writing program for the entire year. We have the students complete in a Composition Notebook so they can see their progress over the year. We use this for 3rd Grade, but it could be used for 2nd as well. What I would suggest is to print it out on cardstock and cut each prompt, fold and put inside of a large pringles can (which you can decorate as an unsharpened pencil) then choose one each time for writing. This Primer and Pre-Primer set includes 90 words from the Dolch Pre-Primer and Primer list. There are three words to a page. My style is student driven and exploratory. I design the activities, so that the students are the ones coming up with questions and finding patterns and discovering math (mostly) and their newfound love of learning.
