About the store
I have taught special education (all subjects) in 7th and 8th grade for nearly 20 years. My students are often mainstreamed out for their elective classes that include Computers, Health, Orchestra, Art and Physical Education. The students attend Social Studies and Science classes with their peers. During these classes, I modify the work for all students to be successful. While in the resource classroom, we learn functional skills such as counting money, reading a menu, budgeting, cooking, etc. To compliment our functional learning, we take community education trips to the grocery store or to a restaurant to apply our skills learned in school. It is my thought that all students can learn when given the right opportunity and tools.

Roll a Pumpkin Drawing Activity
Students can compete to be the first to draw a complete pumpkin. Students will roll a die and draw the corresponding pumpkin piece (eyes, mouth, etc). The students will all draw their pumpkin differently. There is also a writing prompt page included so students can tell a story about their pumpkin.

Pencils Sharpened / Needs Sharpened Labels
Here are a few fun labels for your pencil boxes.
Students can quickly identify which pencils are ready for use. Pencils which need sharpened later can be placed in a separate box.
More time for instruction and less time wasted finding that broken pencil!

Roll a Snowman Drawing Activity
Students will roll a die and draw the corresponding snowman piece (eyes, mouth, etc).
The students will all draw their snowman differently.
I have included two additional activities:
- ‘How to build a snowman’ sequence with writing prompt
- A differentiated activity for making words from the letters in ‘snowman’

Star Student of the Month Worksheet
Highlight the good behavior of your students by featuring them as the star student of the month.
Use punch cards to track good behavior. The student with the most punches at the end of the month can fill out the worksheet provided.
Post the worksheet in a special place in the classroom.

Roll an Apple Drawing Activity
Students can compete to be the first to draw a complete apple. Students will roll a die and draw the corresponding apple piece (leaf, stem, etc). If they roll a duplicate number, they will tally that number and skip their turn. The students will all draw their apple differently. This is a great activity that can go along with the Johnny Appleseed unit also available in my store.

Roll a Christmas Tree
Students can compete to be the first to draw a complete Christmas tree. Students will roll a die and draw the corresponding tree piece (lights, ornaments, etc).
The students will all draw their tree differently.
There is also a writing prompt page included so students can write about their unique tree.

These are supplemental month and day labels that can go on the calendar in your classroom or door.
Many calendars do not have enough space to write the month in large letters so students can see it.
Days of the week are also included in case you want to select a student to change the days.

Emoji about Me
Here is a freebie for your students to complete. The students are asked to answer the questions and draw their ‘emotion’ in the circles provided. In the boxes, the students can write or draw their favorites for each topic provided. When finished, the students can decorate it.
The second worksheet has the students color in their emoji and draw their answers in the smaller boxes. Have them decorate and share.

Teaching style
I am a visual and hands-on learner. When constructing my plans and units, I look at the "whole picture" and when finished have a 40+ page interactive presentation. Most of the material is presented on a SMARTboard accompanied with reinforcement tools such as interactive learning games, Osmo, experiments and peer to peer interactions to develop social skills and problem solving techniques.
I challenge my students with at-level content that is modified to their individual learning capabilities.
