The wording of the problems allows students to think, for instance why does one problem that involves a week only have five days while the other problem that uses a week has seven days? This mini lesson is for second and third grade. It discusses comparing fractions with the same denominator and comparing fractions with the same numerator. This can be used for a mini lesson in class, or it can be assigned to students that may have been absent on the day it was taught.
This is a simple google slide game that will have students click the correct digit to make a combination of 10 in order to advance to the next slide. I created simple games like this for digital math stations during virtual learning. Now I have students using these during their center time. The intention is that students will play the games multiple times in order to build fact fluency. This is three slides, the first gives simple directions. The second slide shows items that students will use, these are common items that students should be able to find around their house. The third slide is interactive, students will have done the lab at home and can now move the items to the appropriate column in a sink or float T-chart.
