About the store
Before teaching 4th and 6th grade, full-time in a public magnet school for four years, I had the opportunity to be a substitute teacher for several years as well. These years of teaching, both full-time and as a substitute gave me quite a bit of opportunity to teach children of all the elementary levels and to observe many different classrooms and teaching styles. In addition to my teaching, I have been serving as a Christian youth worker for over 20 years. My wife and I have been very blessed with two wonderful little girls. We have chosen to take on the challenge of homeschooling them for the next few years. In an effort to provide material for them, I have been endeavoring to learn graphic design and web development skills to make the material we produce available to others. Our website is TinyGrads.com. We hope it can be helpful to other teachers and homeschool parents. I'm so happy to be able to contribute to the Teachers Pay Teachers community. Happy teaching!

Teaching style

I strongly believe teaching must be engaging and fun. Interesting interactive activities, being able to ask questions and pursue the answers to those questions through exploration and research, both in and out of the classroom, bring learning to life. To do this, children need to be supplied with both the proper setting and "equipment." Fun and colorful printouts, clear and engaging activities, and other classroom materials play an important part in bringing this kind of environment to the classroom (or living room for home schoolers like us).

Additional biographical information

I have always loved to teach. So I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to do so and to work with children and young people for for over 20 years. I have also been very interested in technology and exploring how to bring those two together in fun and interesting ways. Developing our educational material for our two home-schooled daughters and trying to build a run a website focused on early childhood education has been a real adventure!
