I have been teaching for 9 years! I have taught 1st, 3rd grade and 5th grade in the states of Missouri, Kansas and California. I have also had experience working with K-5 in before and after school programming and volunteer roles. In addition to my education roles, I have worked as a curriculum developer for children's ministry content too! In this investigation, students will develop reading skills as well as collaboration skills! This is a way to sneakily bring academics in at the beginning of the year! I gathers 15 picture books that had to do with school, behavior and community. Students got to pick several picture books and run an investigation on which picture book they thought would best represent our classroom vision for the year. I then had students make a presentation and read the book to the class. We now have the value

Teaching style

As teachers, the worst thing we can do is make learning seem boring. The best thing we can do is ignite in students a curiosity and love of learning that surpasses our classroom walls and changes the world.
