I have been teaching for 9 years! I have taught 1st, 3rd grade and 5th grade in the states of Missouri, Kansas and California. I have also had experience working with K-5 in before and after school programming and volunteer roles. In addition to my education roles, I have worked as a curriculum developer for children's ministry content too! In all my roles and my created content, you'll see that I highly value student engagement and making learning fun and meaningful.

I used this chart in parent teacher conferences with my first graders as a way to talk with parents about student's math progress when it comes to the way they think about numbers specifically with addition. Our goal is not that kids would just be able to find the right answer but they would be able to gain a number sense that allows them to efficiently solve addition problems.
