Awards & shining teacher moments
Top Note Music School receives honours for preparing many of the students with the Top Marks in the Province with the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. Yearly over 70 students are prepared in the studios and the teachers work to help them achieve incredible ability on their instruments, and voice.
My own education history
Teena Trick has a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from University of Calgary. She began teaching music at 16 years of age. She conducting a cadet marching band at 20 years old, and writing extensively for the marching band. Teena was taught in school band programs, and elementary programs for many years. In 1989 Teena was invited to become the Provincial Music Coordinator in BC for the Cadet Music Program. In that term, she was enabled to put together a team of musicians to write the Air, Army and Sea Cadet March books which are online today. This project was funded by the Department of National Defense to help build Cadet Bands.
Additional biographical information
The Top Note Music School, began in the town of Didsbury, and has now expanded to Carstairs. Teena works together with her teachers to help the teachers learn how to develop good teaching resources for the students they teach to help enhance their teaching skills.
In the school, Teena saw the need to write 5 Drum Set Books to help teach drummers comprehensively how to drum.
