Order of Operations Puzzle meets Common Core Standards. This puzzle will give your students practice with simplifying numeric expressions, while problem solving too. This activity allows students to learn the difference between credit and debit cards. It is designed to be done in small groups between 3-5 students. Teams learn how to calculate interest, and how companies like Best Buy use interest to make money off of credit purchases. Students gain an understanding of interest, and the real cost of products purchased on credit. The second activity has students compare credit cards. This activity teaches students about profit. It is designed to be done in small groups of 3-5, and I use it as a math station. The activity is simple, the students are running a lemonade stand that sells two types of lemonade. They use a spinner to determine their daily sale.
