This is a worksheet that includes a number line and an editable section for price. You can use it as a daily worksheet with students to help practice and familiarize using the next dollar method. The number line helps those students that benefit from a visual.

I use this tool to teach students the Next Dollar or Dollar Up strategy. It is very functional for independent work. I have found laminating these cards and having the students use a vis a vis marker this a great tool for independent work throughout the day, or as a part of a math center. The students see the cost and circle the appropriate amount of money needed. You can then see what the student needs additional assistance with, and target those skills.
