I strongly believe that every child can learn and has the potential to succeed. There is no such thing as “one size fits all” in education, as each individual has his own learning style. Teachers should strive to create diverse learning opportunities that appeal to all of the learners in their classroom.
Differentiated instruction, arts integration, and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences are three areas that I am passionate about. By incorporating these three components into my classroom, I aim to achieve a learning environment that is interactive, creative, and engaging. This environment will promote interdisciplinary units and student-centered learning.
As a teacher, I have high expectations for my students. I accept the responsibility of being a role-model for my students, both in the classroom and in the community. Teachers must go above and beyond their teaching duties and involve themselves with extra-curricular activities. Communication with students, parents, colleagues, and the community is necessary to achieve a successful classroom environment. Lastly, teachers must be adaptable, constantly evaluating their teaching practices, and seeking to improve in all areas.
