My role involves integrating music into the broader curriculum while fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in positive discipline and Philosophy for Children (P4C). I create a supportive and respectful learning environment where students feel empowered to think critically, express themselves, and work collaboratively. By fostering open dialogue and encouraging questions, I aim to cultivate curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a strong sense of responsibility in every learner.

I am proud to be a certified facilitator in both Philosophy for Children (P4C) and Positive Discipline, credentials that reflect my commitment to fostering a thoughtful and respectful classroom culture. Additionally, I hold multiple IB certifications, showcasing my expertise in delivering high-quality, inquiry-based education. Among my proudest moments as an educator are seeing students thrive through meaningful discussions and collaborative learning, as well as being recognized for my innovative contributions to the IB PYP community.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town. This rigorous program honed my technical skills, deepened my understanding of musical theory, and nurtured my passion for creative expression, all of which I bring into my teaching practice.
