In this Morphology Unit, students will study word parts throughout the school year. In this unit, you will find a weekly schedule, a list of affixes, examples of anchor charts, and graphic organizers to teach each new word part. Students will have the chance to break apart new words, find new words in the dictionary, and show their understanding of new definitions by writing sentences or illustrating the word's meaning.
Reading response journals are a great way to practice new skills, as a summative assessment, as homework, or for a review of concepts. For each reading skill, you will find teacher notes on how to teach a new reading skills, ideas for anchor charts, and suggestions for mentor text. Reading response logs help students document what they are reading in a way rather than just what pages they have read.
