Multiplication Graph Game - Every Student is a WINNER!

When I taught elementary, there was always a student that would cry when they didn't win a game. So, I created a game where animals compete, and every student is a winner when an animal finishes! (However, feel free to use it to have competitive students compete if that works for them.) Students draw a number 1-10, multiply it by the factor on the paper, then fill in one box above the product. When a column is filled up, that animal wins. Fill in a brain with words that start with that letter. Ways to use1) Each student gets the same letter. Have a competition to see who can write the most words in a set amount of time. Optional, assign points for the length of each word: 3-letter words are 3 points each, 4-letter words are 4 points each, etc. 2) Each student gets their own letter. They use a dictionary to find words they know and write them down. (Some letters are harder, such as the vowels, so a dictionary is helpful)

Teaching style

It's my goal to create middle school math lessons that reduce math anxiety and encourage students to try. I want every student engaged in math and to feel successful. If you are looking to increase student engagement, especially with students who "aren't good at math," I want to support you on their journey to success!
