Celebrate Pi Day by making Pi City. Students create a bar graph using the digits of pi. Students can cut it out to create a cityscape. This comes with a paper and digital version! This Thanksgiving activity will help students practice solving one-step equations (solving for x). It comes with digital pixel art and the traditional color by number paper activity! *Involves integer operations! Digital pixel art uses Google Sheets. When students type in the correct answer, pixels magically appear. When finished, a beautiful turkey will appear. The answers are NOT in the conditional formatting, so students can't cheat! Paper version: Color the turkey according to the key.

Add or subtract the fractions to find out which Thanksgiving food or dessert is each person's favorite. Includes 12 questions. Fractions have unlike denominators. There is work space to create and rewrite equivalent fractions. So many students write a single operation next to a fraction, so I reinforce that they are multiplying by 1, in the form of 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc. to create an equivalent fraction. The font is larger, since I like to put work in sheet protectors, but it can be scaled down

Students are given 6 or 12 turkeys. Each turkey has a number on the belly. Students write a numeric expression on each feather that simplifies to the number on the belly. Students in lower grades can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students in upper grades can incorporate integers, exponents, square roots, absolute value, fractions, decimals, etc. You can turn this into a math talk, and students can share the expressions they wrote down.
