About the store

Experience

I am a classroom science educator with experience designing and implementing hands-on, inquiry-based STEM lessons for middle and upper elementary students. My work focuses on integrating data analysis, scientific thinking, and real-world problem solving into engaging lab-based learning experiences. I specialize in creating structured, standards-aligned resources that support both print and digital classrooms.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in active learning, student discovery, and structured inquiry. I emphasize clear systems, predictable routines, and scaffolded skill development so students can build confidence while engaging in authentic STEM practices. I enjoy blending traditional lab experiences with modern tools like Google Sheets, data visualization, and interactive digital notebooks.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been honored as Teacher of the Year at my school site and recognized as Teacher of Today by the Masons of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. These experiences reflect my commitment to creating meaningful, student-centered learning environments that support both engagement and academic growth. Some of my most impactful classroom moments come from watching students build confidence in science and math through hands-on investigations, data-driven labs, and real-world problem solving—especially when they begin to see themselves as capable STEM thinkers.

My own education history

I hold degrees in education with a focus on science instruction and a master's degree in environmental science. I have completed additional training in STEM education, curriculum design, and instructional technology integration. My professional development has centered on inquiry-based science teaching, NGSS-aligned instruction, and the use of digital tools to enhance student learning.

Additional biographical information

I have had the opportunity to contribute to STEM education beyond my classroom through involvement in NASA’s Growing Beyond Earth project, a citizen science initiative that brings real space research into student learning environments. I have also participated in the NASA GeneLab Internship program, where I engaged with authentic scientific data and research connected to space biology. These experiences have deeply influenced my approach to instruction, strengthening my focus on inquiry-based learning, data analysis, and connecting classroom science to real-world and space-based applications. Through TurboSTEM Academy, I aim to bring that same level of authenticity and curiosity-driven learning into every resource I create for teachers and students.
